Set on a double lot with a large side yard, this home underwent an extensive renovation. Characteristic of many older homes, its rooms were small, and the first floor had no bathroom.

Removing the old chimney and fireplace created a modern open floor plan for the kitchen and dining room. The new spacious state of the art kitchen now includes a mahogany island with seating and looks out onto a new deck and rolling side yard. The original fireplace mantel was saved and now frames a new gas fireplace in the dining room. Completing the first floor is a new powder room and mudroom added at the rear of the house.

The second floor now includes a new ‘Jack & Jill’ bathroom, a laundry, an office and three bedrooms. The original stair to the attic was small and dangerous, so a new stair was built up to the attic to transform it into the primary suite. The new layout placed the bedroom toward the rear for additional privacy, quiet and views of the trees. The bath fit nicely into the front dormer with the diamond paned windows. The master bath has a double-bowl lavatory, a new shower with a bench and shower jets. The suite is completed with his and hers walk-in closets.
